I’m a writer, translator and literary scholar living in New York City. I was born and raised in Tirana, Albania. My writing, poetry, translations and research have been published in various venues. I hold a doctorate in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan, with a certificate in Critical Translation Studies. I research in, and translate from, Albanian, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and Italian. I recently completed a fellowship at the Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, researching the memory of the Roma Holocaust/Genocide in Albania and Kosovo. My novel-in-progress, which explores young women’s antifascist and anti-colonial struggles in Albania at the start of WWII, was supported by a Yaddo fellowship in summer of 2025.
